We walk as children of the light (Ephesians 5:8), investing in things that matter forever (Matthew 6:24-34) and accepting the invitation to participate in the  will of God.

Matthew 6: 1-34 is the most definitive chapter in the Bible for shaping a leader’s philosophy of life and direction. It’s in these verses Jesus instructs his disciples to focus on things that would bear eternal return over everything else. It’s from these verses we crafted some of our fundamental precepts.

Our core values and beliefs are sourced from our savior, govern our goals and provide clarity to our priorities. These are the principles upon which we, as purpose driven entrepreneurs, build our business.

Purpose driven entrepreneurs honor God, magnify the Lord and delight in Him above all else.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” (Matt 6:33)

Purpose driven entrepreneurs make an impact that outlasts her lifetime. The call to a particular kind of work is secondary to the call to belong to Christ and to participate in his redemption of the world.

“Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (1 Cor 15:58 NLT)

Purpose driven entrepreneurs pursue excellence through diligence, hard work, growing in knowledge and influence. Through our business we have an opportunity to operate in excellence so that others can see the Spirit of God operating in us.

Our job is to work in excellence and diligence as unto the Lord, sowing seeds as we are led. “What joy and blessings will come to that faithful servant when the master comes home to find him serving with excellence!” (Matt 24:46 TPT)

Purpose driven entrepreneurs submit and commit to God’s plan over our own. God is for our success in life. He created you for a purpose, and he wants you to succeed. A leader who trusts in God’s timing, submits to God’s will and His plan requires faith and obedience. The rewards of obedience are shown in the lives throughout the Old and New Testament so we trust He will present opportunities, grant us favor, increase our influence, and open doors that no one can shut.

“Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.” (Prov 16:3) “I have it all planned out –plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” (Jer 29:11)

Purpose driven entrepreneurs are grateful in all circumstances. Even if God doesn’t give us anything else in our business, He has given us enough. Gratitude, as a form of faith, sets the groundwork for God to work. Training our heart to be attentive, acknowledge to all things ensures we never miss the things God is doing.

Purpose driven entrepreneurs live motivated by love; choosing this single virtue over unending supernatural knowledge, the greatest gift of faith that could move mountains, and even generosity to give away everything she possesses. Without love, everything we do, everything we say, and everything we achieve is without purpose.

“There are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.” (1 Cor 13:13)

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” – Theodore Roosevelt

Our convictions drive our actions. Our actions define our culture. And our culture as purpose driven entrepreneurs is demonstrated with the following standards:

Being purpose driven in business means we align our motives, methods and money to most effectively reflect God’s love (Matt 22 & 28).

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to this purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Being purpose driven in business means we care about people more than profit, relationships more than ranks, and blessing others more than the bottom line.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10 NIV)

Being purpose driven in business means we follow those from whom we can learn and lead those we can teach so that God’s marvelous grace will spread to more and more people, resulting in an even greater increase in praise to God.

“Follow those who follow wisdom and stay the right path.” (Prov 2:20) “Follow my example as I follow Christ.” (1 Cor 11:1). “Teach a wise man what is right and he’ll grow even wiser. Instruct the lovers of God and they’ll learn even more.” (Prov 9:9)

Lord, help us build community. We know that we cannot do this alone, so we ask that you stir our hearts to fight for one another and look out for the needs of others. We desire to have all things in common with our sisters. We pray you knit our hearts together.

Encourage. Educate. Empower.

Soul sisters encourage one another.

“So then, make it your top priority to live a life of peace with harmony in your relationships, eagerly seeking to strengthen and encourage one another.” (Romans 14:19 TPT)

Soul sisters spur on one another.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” (Hebrews 10:24 NIV)

Soul sisters carry one another’s burdens.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2 NIV)

Soul sisters speak words of grace to one another.

“Let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them.” (Ephesians 4:29 TPT)

Soul sisters motivate one another.

“Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love.” (Hebrews 10:24 TPT)

“God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well.” (Romans 12:6).  SSN offers practical teaching and recommended actions to apply the lesson in your business. Because it’s only the practical application of knowledge that powerfully propels your business forward.

Attitude Skills – A servant’s heart, both positive and persistent.

People Skills – The ability to relate to others: communicate, delegate, motivate, confront, etc.

Equipping Skills – The ability to train and develop others for service.

Leadership Skills – The ability to cast vision, plan strategy, direct teams, and empower others.

Leadership means speaking all the truth—sometimes unpleasant and painful truth—that God has entrusted to us.  We will give you an honest assessment of your business and biblical acumen.

You cannot just have the vision. God compels us to RUN our race (specific purpose) so that others may see Him and know that He is the one true God. Frederick Buechner writes: “The place God calls you to is where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”

Paul emphasized that we’re to actually use these gifts and abilities God has given us for the benefit of others. Trust God’s favor. Remember the hand of God who started the work!

Nehemiah 6:9-15 work with greater determination!

Let people learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet urgent needs, so that they may not be unproductive. Titus 3:14

“Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more asyou see the Day approaching.”

Hebrews 10:25

Growth with God at the center reveals and builds your character. With God to guide you in business, every step you take through obedience reveals more and more of who God has destined you to become.

As we willingly follow His lead, He will provide everything we need to accomplish His purposes.

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Luke 6:38 NIV
